On December 7th, the Landstown High School Governor’s STEM Academy Council partnered with Operation Smile to host the annual STEM Festival! The event included many Landstown students showcasing their various creations and projects from the school. This celebration and showcasing of what STEM really is could not be possible without the help of multiple clubs and honor societies from the school that helped make this yearly festivity more fun and engaging for all attendees and students. In fact, over $500 dollars was raised as a result of the event, and all of the funds were given to Operation Smile to help provide free cleft lip and palate surgeries to children around the world. Cleft lip is a birth defect that makes an opening in the lip that about 1 in every 1000 babies are born with.
